La Sociedad de Escritores de Chile (SECH) es la institución más representativa de los escritores en Chile. Su personería jurídica, actualmente vigente, fue otorgada por el decreto N° 1904 del Ministerio de Justicia, con fecha 9 de agosto de 1933.
A la Sociedad de Escritores de Chile pertenecen escritores de los distintos géneros literarios: poesía, cuento, novela, ensayo y dramaturgia. En sus registros figuran inscritos más de 3.000 socios, desde su fundación.
